For several nights there have been no large-scale air attacks with missiles in Kiev.


We can sleep well all night.


But last night there were attacks in Ukraine. An apartment building was hit in the town of Kryvyi Rih, and civilians were killed.

I distract myself almost constantly with an audio book. I can hardly read alone now. When I read by myself, my thoughts distract me from what I am reading. I have to read every sentence several times.


I listen to the author Eckhart Tolle about being mindful in life.


Tolle writes that mindfulness heals and restores the personality. Being present and perceiving reality as it is reduces anxiety and tension.

The difference between what is and what we want it to be tears at our integrity. When we push reality away, it creates a lot of tension and anxiety.


Tolle also writes about the ego and the body of pain that lives within us as a separate substance. The body of pain needs negative energy such as pain, anger and irritation to survive.


We are used to associating ourselves with the body of pain, and its loss scares us, scares us of losing our self-identity. But being present and accepting the body of pain as it is dissolves it. The body of pain and the ego work together. They both need to be reinforced with negative thoughts.
